DSST
DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST) provides an opportunity for individuals to earn college credit for knowledge obtained outside of the traditional classroom. This test was developed to enable educational institutions to award college credit to individuals for knowledge equivalent to what is learned by students taking the actual course. The institution may choose to award college credit to the student based on the achievement of a passing score. The passing score for each examination is determined by the educational institution and is based on a recommendation from the American Council of Education (ACE). This minimum credit-awarding score is equal to those who receive a grade of C in the course. Some colleges and universities set their own standards for awarding credit and may require a higher score than the ACE recommendation. Students can obtain this information from the educational institution where they expect to receive credit.
Armstrong Atlantic State University is a DSST Computer Based Testing Site. There is a $25 service fee, payable to Armstrong, and a $80 testing fee, paid exclusively with Visa, Master Card or American Express directly to DSST. Military-affiliated individuals should call HAAF (912.352.6130) or Ft. Stewart (912.767.8331) for testing information.
