Pirate Card Information
When a student leaves for college, it is normal as a parent to be concerned about whether or not they will have everything they need. How can you assure your student has the necessary funds for books, printing, and meals without risking overdraft fees and interest? By depositing funds on your student’s PirateCard you are ensuring they will have access to purchases on-campus such as books, supplies, and food. To use the funds on the PirateCard, a student simply has to present it to the cashier and the correct accounts will be debited. Funds may be added via check, cash, or credit card at the Bursar's Office in Burnett Hall, via cash or credit card at the Pirate Express Terminal in Lane Library and Student Union kiosk or online using a credit card.
Pirate Cash — These funds may be used for purchases at all locations (see list below).
- Dining Dollars — Funds deposited in this account are designated to be used at on-campus dining facilities (The Galley, The Perk, The Pirate's Pantry, Quiznos and WOW) and vending machines. Residential students have the option of adding these funds as a supplement to their meal plan.
- Bookstore Bucks — Funds deposited in this account are designated to be used only at the Armstrong Bookstore for books and school supplies.
- Pharos — Each semester, students taking classes are given $8.80 to pay for printing in computer labs and the library; this is 110 black and white pages, color pages are an additional charge. These funds are automatically renewed the first day of each semester.
Flex Funds — Students living on-campus receive $250 Flex Funds as a part of their meal plan. This provides students with flexible dining options outside of The Galley. Flex Funds can be used at any of the dining facilities and vending machines on campus.
