Department of Art, Music and Theatre upcoming events

 

April 25-27: The Armstrong Masquers troupe presents ”Dramarama” an entertaining evening of comic and dramatic songs, scenes, and one-act plays produced by the fall semester directing class at 7:30 p.m. in Armstrong Jenkins Hall Theater. The Masquers perform three distinct sets of productions in repertory. Audience discretion is advised. Not recommended for children. Free admission at the door until all seats are filled. Doors open 30 minutes before performance. Call 344.2801 from noon to 3 p.m., weekdays, for information. Connect Savannah is the print sponsor of the Masquers.

April 26: AMT presents an art gallery reception for its senior art education exhibition at 5:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Gallery. Admission is free.

April 28: The Savannah Winds, community wind symphony in residence at Armstrong, performs its annual “Ed & Friends” POPS Concert at 3 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium. This concert tributes the legacy and memory of Ed Caughran, acclaimed Savannah music educator. Join the Winds for this special concert that reminds us how we all hold a special place in our lives for transcendent music and for those who bring us such extraordinary musical experiences. General admission: Only $14.

April 30: AMT sponsored in part by the Savannah Friends of Music presents orchestras of the Armstrong Atlantic Youth Orchestra Program (AAYO) in concert at 6:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium. The Armstrong Atlantic Youth Orchestra, Atlantic Chamber Orchestra, Lyric Strings Ensembles I & II, and Debut Strings all perform. General admission: Only $6.
