Teaching Fellows Program
The Teaching Fellows Program for Online & Blended Learning is an 8-week blended format course that provides faculty with a detailed understanding of online and blended teaching and learning. Each of the 8 weeks covers critical topics relating to online and blended learning including, but not limited to, federal compliance, SACS accreditation, Program Integrity Rules, Section 508 compliance, Scholarship of Teaching & Learning, Quality Matters, Alternative Instructional Equivalency, student and faculty engagement, assessment, etc. The 8-week course also covers best practices and strategies for course development and instruction. Faculty will also be required to create a course template in Vista (soon to be Desire2Learn) and weekly lessons with lectures and activities that are Section 508 compliant. Course instruction for the Teaching Fellows Program requires faculty to come to campus for some face-to-face sessions as well as complete weekly lessons and assignments online.
