B.S. in Biology

A successful neurologist and businessman, Dr. Jerry Williams graduated from medical school at the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in 1990, being only 2 of 184 to graduate 6 months early from his 1991 medical school class, after earning a B.S. in Biology from Armstrong in 1987 where he was awarded a Silver “A” for service to the college. Jerry is a practicing pediatric and adult neurologist who specializes in headache treatment at Chatham Neurology in Savannah. He completed his pediatric internship at North Carolina Baptist Hospital/Bowman-Gray at Wake Forest University and his internal medicine internship at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina, a University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill affiliated program.  His neurology residency was done at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico and his pediatric neurology Fellowship was accomplished at The University of North Carolina Hospital at Chapel Hill.

He is also the owner of three Urgent Care Centers in Savannah:  Urgent Care of Historic Savannah, Tybee Urgent Care and Urgent Care Sandfly, which is slated to open on December 1, 2011.  These three Urgent Care centers are planning a launch of a new, game-changing, alternative payment plan for primary and acute urgent care that Dr. Williams states “will solve 99% of the uninsured and under-insured primary care problem for its members.”

In November of 2010, he founded a technology-based company, Upward Wave, which manages social media for small to medium-sized businesses worldwide.  That business is growing rapidly with clients in 3 continents and all over the United States.  It has also recently expanded its product/service line to include graphic design and an internal advertising agency.  Currently, Upward Wave is wrapping up work on a proprietary social media management tool that will give it another significant advantage in the exciting, ever-changing world of social media!

Dr. Williams enjoys a wide array of hobbies including, weight-training/cross-training/walking, cooking, art collecting, eating out, hunting, wildlife management/conservation, real estate development, boating, fishing, dog-loving, gardening, and studying history, having become an authority on the health of President Theodore Roosevelt.  He is an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan and University of Georgia Bulldog football season ticket holder/fan.
