In 2006, Christina Bourgeois launched Georgia Tech's first Communication Studio in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, a pioneering facility that served as the prototype for the Institute's Communication Center, which opened in the fall of 2011. Christina also developed and implemented ECE’s in-house technical communications program, where she teaches the writing and presentation component to over 1200 undergraduate students in courses such as Digital Design Lab, Microelectronics Circuits Laboratory, and Senior Design. In 2004, she received the ECE Academic Spotlight Award from the Georgia Institute of Technology. After completing her undergraduate degree at Armstrong, Christina earned an M.A. in English from Clemson University. A former writing instructor at Armstrong and interim director of the university’s Writing Center, she was honored as Armstrong’s Outstanding Writing Center Tutor in 1994 and twice received the All-American Scholar Collegiate Award.
