Academic Outreach is a vital component to OMA, and provides our office with the opportunity to address academic performance though guidance in study, retention, and matriculation.
The Early Alert Support Environment (EASE) is a mentoring program designed to meet the needs of underrepresented students by providing positive role models and visible campus leaders, plus enhancing their connections to the institutions' faculty and facilities.
Provide personal and academic counseling with referrals to specific entities where needed inclusive of, but not limited to: testing services, disability support services, and the counseling center.
Multicultural Academic Achievement Scholars Program (MAAS)
MAAS is designed for all underrepresented students. Student participants will be celebrated on the OMA web-page if their GPA is a 3.0 or higher. Participating MAAS students matriculating out of AASU will be recognized at the end of the year with an awards and graduation pinning ceremony (to be a participant in the graduation ceremony for MAAS, a full-time matriculated student must have joined the program by the end of their sophomore year). MAAS also provides guidance and additional support to students with a GPA below a 2.5
