National Cyber Security Awareness Month
October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month. In today’s day and age, we are constantly bombarded with email spams and internet scams. Every time we turn around there is some prince in a foreign country offering us millions of dollars for helping him if only we would give him our bank account information or somebody promising that they can get prescription drugs cheaper than anywhere else. Some of us don’t even realize that with social networking reaching such a giant portion of the population, we are giving out private information to everyone that wants it. Information that we would not even tell friends. This is why the Department of Homeland Security and MS-ISAC have joined forces to make October the National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
