Financing Study Abroad
University System of Georgia students who are eligible to receive federal financial aid and/or the HOPE scholarship may use their financial aid for study abroad as long the Office of International Education has approved the courses taken abroad for credit.
A student's federal financial aid or HOPE scholarship may apply to a study abroad program approved by OIE regardless of the study abroad program's origin (institutional, system or external to Georgia).
Students can also receive financial support for their study abroad program through the Regents' STARS program and Regents' On-Line Language Scholarships. Funding may also be available through national scholarships, program or country specific scholarships, or through foundations that offer targeted study abroad grants and scholarships.
