What do I need to do to remove my Housing Hold?
All 29- credit hour students have a Freshmen Live On Requirment Hold on your student account after Admission into Armstrong. You must complete your Housing application, including the non-refundable application fee, or complete an Exemption Form prior to Housing removing your Houding Hold.What is the deadline to apply for campus?
Armstrong does not have an offical deadline for on-campus housing. The sooner you apply, the best change that Housing can accommodate your Housing prefrences.How do I apply to live on campus?
You can complete a Housing application online by logging into your Pirate's SHIP account. Once you log in, you can find the link for the Housing application on the home page and fill out the appropriate application.
In addition to completing your online application, if you are NOT renewing your application, you will need to submit a check or money order for your $250.00 non-refundable application fee. After your application and application fee are received, it will be processed by University Housing.
What do I need to do if I cannot get into the Housing online application?
Students must be admitted to Armstrong 24 hours prior to applying to Housing. If you have been admitted longer than 24 hours, please email Housing at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), including your request for a paper application and the error message that you are receiving from your SHIP account. If you are not allowed into SHIP, please contact I.T.S. support at 912.344.2518.How can I tell if my application is complete?
Once your application has been filled out and your housing application fee received from our Main Housing Office, we manually input your complete date into our system. Once the complete date has been inputted, you can view your completion by logging back into the online housing portal, through your student SHIP account. Go back into the application that you wish to see the status of and click on the Application Status tab (last tab on the left).How do I change my permanent address, phone number, or email address after I submit my Housing application?
Please log into your student SHIP account and change the permanent address, phone number, or email address. All changes take 24 hours to change into Housing's system.How do I know which apartment/community to which I have been assigned?
When your application is received, processed, and completed, Housing will reserve a room based on your community selection and roommate preferences (indicated on your Housing application) and remaining availability. Rooms will be reserved in the order received for complete applications, after the Housing renewal process.In general, first year undergraduates (freshmen) will be placed in Windward Commons; other undergraduates and graduate students will be placed in apartment communities: Compass Point, University Terrace, and University Crossings.
You will be assigned to a specific room and community based on your preferences. Once you have been assigned to a unit, your room/ roommate information will be provided on the application status page (indicated on your Housing application).
If I did not get the room type that I wanted, what do I need to do?
Please complete a Room Change Request Form. Please not that University Housing has a waiting list option for all room types, starting Fall 2012. You may be able to still be reserved into your number one room preference based on this waiting list option, depending on cancellations, room trasnfers, ect. You will be contacted via Armstrong email if Housing can accommodate any change.
How do I select roommates?
Log into your Housing application through your student SHIP account. Once you have logged in, go to the roommate search tab. You may search for any person that has a housing application for the same term as the one that you are applying for. If your roommate request does not have an application for that term on file, than they will not appear in the search menu. All roommate requests must be mutual to be considered.Can I live with someone who is not an Armstrong student?
No, on-campus housing is available only to Armstrong undergraduate or graduate students.Can I live with a family member?
Only if the family member is an Armstrong undergraduate or graduate student AND both you and the family member list one another as a preferred roommate in the roommate selection of the Housing application. Please keep in mind that you can only live with family members who are the same gender.Can I live with a person of a different gender?
No, on-campus housing at Armstrong is designed for roommates of the same gender only.
Will I get placed with my preferred roommate?
University Housing will do our best to accommodate all preferred roommate requests. All roommate requests must be mutual to be considered.How do I know who my assigned roommates are?
Log into the Housing application on your student SHIP account. Proceed to the Application Status Page. This page will provide you with your assigned room, type, location, and roommate information.
How do I get my roommate's contact information?
University Housing currently does not provide contact information online. Main Housing may provide contact information that have been approved to be released from the students via email. Please email Housing, at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), in order to request this information.To approve your contact information for release please update your Housing application online through your student SHIP account.
