Housing & Residence Life

Apply for Housing
Your first step in making Armstrong your home away from home

Living on campus is a great way to have fun, meet new friends and get involved with activities and organizations, while still maintaining an academic focus.

First Year Student Housing

Students will be able to apply for housing 24 hours after they have been formally accepted to Armstrong. Students may apply for campus housing through their Port of Armstrong account. Fall housing assignments will be posted and student accounts charged by July first. Spring housing assignments will be posted and student accounts charged by November first. Assignments will be determined by the date on the applicant's housing application and when the non-refundable housing application fee is received by the Office of Housing and Residence Life.

Dual enrolled students, (dual enrolled in high school and college), including those enrolled full-time, are not eligible to live on campus.

First year students have the option of participating in a living-learning community. In a living-learning community, you'll have the chance to really get to know Armstrong and develop strong friendships with your fellow residents. Residents have access to many special resources, programs, and activities, such as tutors, mentoring programs, field trips, and reserved space in the first-year residence hall. Returning Student Housing

Students wishing to return to Armstrong housing for another academic year should complete the online housing application via Port of Armstrong. The housing application is located beneath the register tab about half way down the page. Once you have filled out the application, you will need to return to the application between the dates of March 23-24 if you wish to return to your same space for next year (Windward not eligible during this time slot). Students interested in returning to Windward Commons for a second year will be permitted to do so on a limited basis. E-mail housing@armstrong.edu prior to April 10 if you are interested in pursuing this option.

If you wish to select a new space for next year, you will need to go back to your application between the dates of March 25 to April 10 to select a new room space. Any student with a completed housing application who does not self select a space during these time periods will be assigned based on preferences and space available.

Transfer Student Housing

The Office of Housing and Residence Life understands that transferring to a new university can be a challenging transition. We believe the residential experience can greatly assist students in making the transfer process as smooth as possible. Housing and  Residence Life has an upper-class apartment community, Transfer Strong, that are perfect for incoming transfer students. Our apartment communities balance independence with community building and peer networking by housing live-in Resident Assistants to help support the Armstrong experience of each of our residents.

Beginning in Fall 2015, Housing and Residence Life will be clustering transfer students together in Compass Point 4-bedroom apartments. It's a great way to meet other transfer students who will be going through some of the same things you will go through. Transfer Strong will have special programs and give you opportunities to meet more students like yourself who are starting their Armstrong experience.
