Applying for Graduation
Undergraduate Graduation Information
Step 1: Schedule a meeting with your advisor to discuss degree completion requirements.
Step 2: Complete an Application for Graduation form and submit to the Registrar's Office two terms before degree completion. Application for Graduation forms are located in the Registrar's Office or in most academic departments. The cost to apply for graduation is $63.00.
Graduation Application Deadline
The current deadline to apply is two full terms prior to your projected graduation.Completion of Armstrong Degree Requirements at Another Institution
If you intend to complete degree requirements at another institution, it is your responsibility to ensure that an "official" transcript reflecting courses and grades earned arrives in the Registrar's Office.If you are enrolling in courses at another institution during your last term before graduation, all transcripts must be submitted by Armstrong's last day of class. It is your responsibility to inform the instructor of your graduating senior status and provide him/her with grade submission dates.Graduation Status
All applicants receive a letter from the Registrar's Office indicating the status of their application for graduation. This letter will indicate any incomplete degree requirements and instructions on the appropriate action to take. If your letter contains incomplete degree requirements, you are encouraged to talk with your advisor immediately.Participation in Commencement
We try very hard to inform you prior to commencement if you have not met requirements for graduation. Participating in the ceremony is not a guarantee of graduation.Graduating with Honors
Honors are awarded according to your overall GPA at graduation. You must meet all requirements for graduation in order to be eligible. Honors designations and GPA requirements are listed below.Cum Laude - Students graduating with a grade point average of 3.20 — 3.49
Magna Cum Laude - Students graduating with a grade point average of 3.50 — 3.79
Summa Cum Laude - Students graduating with a grade point average of 3.80 — 4.0
Students who are pursuing a second baccalaureate degree at Armstrong must request an "honors evaluation" to be considered.
Students who have received Academic Renewal (forgiveness policy) are not eligible for honors.
Incompletes and Graduation
All requirements must be satisfied prior to graduation. No degree will be conferred with an incomplete (I) on the student's record.Official Armstrong Transcripts with Degree Status
Official transcripts, with degree information and date conferred are available approximately two weeks after graduation. There is no charge for a transcript.Graduate Graduation Information
Graduation Requirements
Students must apply for graduation by the following dates: February 15th for May, June 15th for summer, and September 15th for December. A student must have degree-regular status and earn a 3.0 overall GPA on graduate course work to meet graduation requirements. All required work for the degree program (comps, portfolio,thesis) must be completed before degrees will be awarded. There is no honor designation at Armstrong for graduate students.
