What is the Work Study Program?
The Program
The Federal College Work-Study Program provides jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to your course of study.Compensation
Federal Work-Study wages will be at least the current federal minimum wage, but it may be higher, depending on the type of work and the skills required. A student's total Federal Work-Study eligibility depends on when they apply, their level of need, and the funding level of Armstrong.Undergraduates are paid by the hour. Graduates may be paid by the hour, or they may receive a salary. No Federal Work-Study student may be paid by commission or fee. Armstrong must pay work-study students at least once a month. Work-Study funds cannot be credited toward tuition.
Hours
When assigning work hours, an employer or financial aid administrator will consider the student's class schedule and their academic progress. Students may not work more than 16 hours per week.Please visit the College Work Study Program (CWSP) webpage for more information.
