H. Dean Propst Award

Criteria

The award is presented each year to a faculty member who has been outstanding in teaching and learning, advisement, counseling, and the encouragement and support of student involvement in academic and co-curricular activities (e.g., research, scholarship, creative works, student organizations, mentoring, and student leadership activities).

Eligibility

Any Armstrong faculty member.

Nomination Process

Nominations can be made by students or faculty. Nominations, with a letter of support demonstrating the faculty member's activities as related to the above criteria, should be sent to the nominee's department head. The nomination must be accompanied by a written endorsement from the nominee's department head. The nominee's department head must then forward the nomination to the Office of Faculty Development. The Office of Faculty Development will then submit the nomination to the Student Government Association.

Selection Process

The Awards Committee of the Student Government Association will make the recommendation based on the nomination as well as any additional information that would support the nominations. The Awards Committee will submit the recommendation to full SGA membership for deliberation and vote with a simple majority deciding the successful recipient of the award.

The nomination must be emailed to faculty.development@armstrong.edu. The deadline for submitting nominations for the Award for Distinguished Faculty Service to the Community is March 18th, 2016.
