U.S. Department of Education Awards $457,000 Grant to AASU's Cyber Security Research Foundation (PDF)
5/3/2010 - The U.S. Department of Education has awarded a $457,000 Congressionally directed grant to the Armstrong Atlantic State University Cyber Security Research Foundation for the development and implementation of a Cyber Affairs and Security Certificate Program.

3/30/2009 - Armstrong Atlantic State University's Cyber Security Research Institute has received $428,000 in federal support to continue to prepare law enforcement personnel and students for emerging cyber security threats. Congressman Jack Kingston, a strong supporter of the CSRI, helped secure the funding. Senators Johnny Isakson and Saxby Chambliss also supported the funding.

9/4/2007 - AASU announces the establishment of the Cyber Security Research Institute on its campus in Savannah, Georgia. To celebrate this occasion, AASU hosted an opening ceremony followed by an open house. The Institute's goal is to provide subject matter expertise in cyber and homeland security issues as it relates to highly specific academic courses, training, and research and development projects. The institute is one of the first of its kind in the nation and it is unique in that it combines the societal and behavioral sciences of criminal justice with the technology sciences of computer science, information technology, and computer engineering.

9/6/2007 - AASU and CSRI today announce the establishment of key alliances with The Washington Group International and Bridgeborn. These alliances will provide a secure collaborative environment for information sharing as well as advanced technologies and methodologies that are in the interest of national security.

12/14/2006 - FLETC and AASU entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement this week after two years of extensive planning.
