Jib Information
The web server, jib, will be retiring at the end of Spring 2013 semester. After May 17th, 2013, jib will no longer be accessible.
IT Services recommends that you download your content stored on jib to your personal computer prior to May 17, 2013. IT Services will maintain a backup of jib through December, 2013. Students may be able to obtain content stored on this backup through a special request. If you have any additional questions, please contact helpdesk@armstrong.edu.
What's Jib?
Students enrolled in one of several ITEC or CSCI courses may be required to complete some coursework using Jib. Each student enrolled in one of these courses by the end of the drop/add period for the semester will have an account created and will be able to access this Jib account by using his or her Pirates' Cove username and password.
How does one connect to Jib to complete work or upload content?
Depending on the course in which students are enrolled, access to Jib is gained using sftp or ssh shell. Windows users should download and install the SSH Secure Shell Client. Mac users with shell access can connect by typing in a terminal window 'ssh< username >@jib.armstrong.edu' . Mac users with rssh access can download FileZilla. NOTE: FileZilla must be configured to use sftp to connect to Jib successfully.

How long will course content remain on Jib?
Students will need to copy any work saved on Jib to their computers by the end of the semester. All information will be removed from a student's home directory regardless of enrollment status for the following semester.
My password is not working with Jib. How can I reset it?
Please reset your password in Pirates' Cove. You will need your 907 number, Pirates' Cove username, and SHIP pin.
I was added to a course after the drop/add period and need a Jib account.
