Download the preconfigured file through Pirates Cove and save to your desktop. Double Click on the SecureW2 executable file and hit the Run button. Listed below is the onscreen instructions to complete the installation. After the installation completes, select the “Reboot” option to complete the installation.

You must reboot the computer before proceeding.

Step 3: Selecting Wireless Network

After rebooting, open the Wireless adapter network connection properties dialog box,by right clicking on the Wireless Icon in your task bar and selecting View Available Wireless Networks then select Change the Order of Preferred Networks and select appropriate wireless network in the Preferred networks section. If you see AASU_WLAN please remove.

Use the “Move up” and “Move down” buttons to move the network (AASU_FACULTY_WLAN or AASU_STUDENT_WLAN) to the top of the list.After selecting the appropriate network,select the properties button.

 

For students: Enter your Cove username and password.

For faculty: Enter your Cove username and password.

After logging in a message box will appear stating your wireless connection is now

connected.

If Windows is not set at the default Wireless Manager the following can be used to

configure my wireless network settings:

After installing the WPA2 hotfix, enable the “Use Windows to configure my wireless

network settings” option by going to the “Start” menu, opening the “Control Panel” and

selecting “Network and Internet Connections”, followed by selecting “Network

Connections”.

Right-click the wireless adapter and select Properties.

When the Wireless Adapter Connection Properties dialog box appears, under the

Wireless tab, select the “Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings”

checkbox.
