New Look for Google Apps

Includes Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Google Sites..

Google Apps is getting a new look! Google has started to roll out changes to the Google Apps interface for improved consistency, usability, and flexibility across different browsers and devices.

You can opt-in to the new look for Gmail and Calendar. Also, the new look is now the default.
For the Google Sites; the Google Docs list; and the Google Docs editors for documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and drawings.

Note that for a limited time, you can switch back to the old interface for any service, but the new look will become permanent soon.
 

Try the New Look for Gmail

To try the new look for Gmail:
 

  1. In Gmail, at the top of the page, click Switch to the new look.
  2. Choose how much whitespace you prefer in your inbox. Click the Settings gear menu, and then choose a display density: "Comfortable" (most whitespace), "Cozy" (less whitespace), or "Compact" (least whitespace).

To switch back to the old interface, click the Settings gear menu, and then choose Revert to the old look temporarily:


 

Try the New Look for Google Calendar

To try the new look for Google Calendar: In the upper right of the page, click the Options gear icon, and then choose "Try the new look":



To switch back to the old interface, click the Options gear icon and choose Use the classic look.


 

Adjust the New Look for Google Docs List

To adjust the new look for the Google Docs list:
Choose the how much whitespace you prefer in your Docs list: In Google Docs, click the Settings gear menu, and then choose a display density: "Comfortable" (most whitespace), "Cozy" (less whitespace), or "Compact" (least whitespace):

To switch back to the old interface for Google Docs editors:
When viewing or editing a document, presentation, spreadsheet, or drawing, in the Help menu, choose "Use the classic look".

To switch back to the old interface for Google Sites:
1.  On the Sites list page, in the Options gear menu, choose User settings.




2.  Uncheck Use the new look.



3.  Click Save.
