Granting Access to a Departmental Account

  1. After you have logged into the email account, click on the gear icon in the top right.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select the Accounts tab.
  4.  Under ‘Grant access to your account,’ click the Add another account link.


5.  Enter the email address of the person you’d like to access the account and click Next Step. Remember you can only enter an address.

6.  You’ll see a confirmation message. Click Send email to grant access if you’re sure.

7.  The person you have shared access with will receive a verification email explaining that you've granted access to them.

  • After the person confirms this request, it may take up to 30 minutes for the verification process to be completed. To see if the delegate has confirmed access to your account, look at the Accounts tab in Settings.

Any messages someone else sends from the departmental account will have the departmental account name in addition to the other person’s name, so they’ll show the sender as: Departmental Account Name (sent by Delegate’s name).

Accessing a Departmental Account

For the person that has been granted access to the Departmental account, they can access it by clicking on their email address or their picture in the upper-right corner in Mail. They then choose the departmental email address from the list.
