Mission

Armstrong Atlantic State University’s IT Services Security unit strives to implement, measure and promote user awareness in the field of IT security.  Our focus is to create and maintain policies and procedures to aid in strengthening the resilience of the University’s IT infrastructure by limiting the effects of security related exposures and to provide a safe computing environment for the Armstrong community.

Security

IT Services is responsible for protecting the University’s systems, services, and data against unauthorized use, modification, damage or loss.  To assist the IT Services Department in achieving this mission, Information Security MUST be considered by every member of the University community.  IT Services provides security training for Armstrong faculty, staff, and students to aid in protecting and securing the University’s information assets and creating a more educated and secure campus.

Quality

IT Services is responsible for reviewing processes that could potentially impact and threaten the IT assets of the University and remediate those practices to provide a framework for policies, assessments, tools and procedures that will safeguard the University.
