Welcome to Google apps at Armstrong
To begin using your Armstrong Email Account through Google, open a web browser and go to: http://email.armstrong.edu
You will be prompted for login information:
Enter your username:
Enter the initial password:


Quick Start Guide for Recommended Settings
GMail
Mail: http://email.armstrong.edu
Find the settings icon
located on the top right of the screenand select “Mail Settings”.Under the “General” tab, select 100 messages per page and 250 contacts per page. Next decide if you want your emails to be threaded by subject (Conversation View) or you want each one separate. Scroll down to enable and create your email signature. Then select “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.
Select the “Labels” tab at the top of the page. Google has Labels instead of folders. Labels are different from folders because an email can “live” under two different labels. This feature makes searching easy. If you need a new label, create it in this tab.
Under the “Webclips” tab, deselect the check box to turn this feature off.
“Labs” are Google’s add-ons to help you personalize your email account to meet your unique needs. This is a great area to explore for personalization!
Google’s max email storage size is 7GB. This includes archives. The max email size is 25 MB.

Google Docs are organized by “Collections” that act like labels. “Share” determines the settings of the documents. The different share settings are: allow others to view or allow others to edit or make it visible on the web. Use “Discussions” to add comments about the document.
Contacts
Contacts moved from Groupwise are listed under “All Contacts”. To clean up your list, select ”Find Duplicates”. Use this
Calendar
Calendar : http://calendar.armstrong.edu
Find the settings
icon located on the top right of the screen and select “Calendar Settings”.
To share a calendar, select the “Calendars” tab. Find the calendar you wish to share, then select “Shared: Edit Settings” on the horizontal line as that calendar. Enter the email address of the person you wish to share the calendar with. Then use the radio button to select the Permissions settings for that user. Select ”Add Person” and “Save” at the bottom.
