Rationale
This policy defines the guidelines for the use of Technology Fee Expenditures.
Procedure Reference
Use
- Technology fee revenues shall be used primarily for the direct benefit of students to assist them in meeting the educational objectives of their academic programs.
- Technology fee revenue may be use to assure that there are sufficient campus licenses for primary productivity tools for students.
- Technology fee revenues may be used for hardware and network related expenditures that include support of general purpose laboratories available to all students and faculty.
- Technology fee revenues may be used for hardware and network related expenditures that include support classrooms and or other related learning environments.
- Technology fee revenues may be used for training of students.
- Technology revenues in some instances may be used to leverage other funds where appropriate. The use of these funds requires the signature of the Chief Information Officer of the University.
- Technology fee revenues may be used for student staffing positions in the office of Information Technology Services.
- Technology fee revenues shall not be used for administrative software or the hardware to support administrative software.
