New Office Supply Statewide Contract

Jul 19, 2012, 04:21 pm - Becky Smith

Effective July 19, 2012, the State of Georgia will utilize a new office supply statewide contract.

The state has split the office supply contract:  the general office supply contract has been awarded to Office Max, and the purchase of paper and toner/ink cartridges is to be ordered through Staples.

The process for placing these orders remains the same:

STAPLES- You will need to go to (for paper and cartridges) to get the 6-digit item # of the item you wish to purchase.  E-mail your approver the items you wish to purchase and have them approve the purchase and forward the email to Debra Bittner ( to place the order.

OFFICEMAX– You will go to (for general office supplies, (i.e. pens, markers, staplers etc.) or browse through one of their catalogs to get the product # of the item you wish to purchase.  If you are looking on the website the username is armstrongatlantic and the password is officemax1.  E-mail your approver the items you wish to purchase and have them approve the purchase and forward the e-mail to Debra Bittner ( to place the order.

The remainder of the process is the same as the previous two years with Staples.  The orders are placed on Mondays & Thursdays; if the orders are placed prior to 2:00 pm the items will be delivered to you the next business day. For those of you who have been relocated with the Gamble Hall renovations, please make a note of your new location on your next few e-mail orders so that we can have your package delivered to you in your new location.

Debra Bittner will process all payments; please be sure that your e-mail contains the budget string for the purchase charges (this is particularly needed if the purchase is not to be charged to your regular departmental operating budget).

The Staples card is on hand in the Procurement & Auxiliary Services office.  It is available to you if you need to go to Staples to pick up paper or cartridges.  Within two weeks, we will also have an Office Max card available to you for Office Max store purchases.  Remember when you come to get the card please be sure to bring a completed Card Approval Form.  In addition, you may use the State P-card to make purchases in the stores, as well.

If you have any questions or need any further assistance, please contact Debra Bittner at 912-344-2907 or Daphne Burch at 912-344-2647.

Thank you.
