Withdrawal from a Course
If you decide to drop a class, you must do it in the right way to avoid failing. If you simply stop attending, you will receive an F.Students may go through the process of withdrawing from a course at any time, but the consequences for withdrawing from a course depend on when the official withdrawal occurs. If a student withdraws from a class before classes begin or during the late drop/add period, the course does not appear on the Permanent Student Record.
A student may drop a course online during drop/add. After drop/add, a student must use a drop/add form with a professor signature. The instructor specifies a grade of W (withdrawal without penalty) or WF (withdrawal failure). Withdrawing after the midterm also requires using the drop/add form and the instructor must issue a WF or F-grade.
