Academic Advisement

Steps for a Successful Transition to College Life

Are you wondering what comes next, after you receive the acceptance letter? There are a few essential steps you should take to ensure a smooth transition into college life at Armstrong.

  1. Seek academic advisement to determine which classes you should take during your first semester. Your advisor will remove your advisement hold.
  2. Learn to access and navigate your Port of Armstrong account. You will use Port to register, check your records and financial aid, and to use your email.
  3. Go to Card Services to get your Pirate Card. You will use this card for meals, library services, events, and much more.
  4. Purchase a parking decal from Parking Services in the University Police Department.
  5. Check your holds to see if you have any outstanding fees or documents.
