Steps for a Successful Transition to College Life
Are you wondering what comes next, after you receive the acceptance letter? There are a few essential steps you should take to ensure a smooth transition into college life at Armstrong.1. Seek academic advisement to determine which classes you should take during your first semester. Your advisor will remove your advisement hold.
2. Learn to access and navigate your SHIP account. You will use SHIP to register for classes.
3. Learn to log into Pirates' Cove and activate your Armstrong email. You must check your AASU email every day for important message about financial aid and registration issues.
4. Go to Card Services to get your Pirate Card. You will use this card for meals, library services, events, and much more.
5. Purchase a parking decal from the Bursar's Office in Burnett Hall.
6. Check your holds to see if you have any outstanding fees or documents. Go to:

7. Register for your classes via your SHIP account. Go to:

8. Purchase your books at the AASU bookstore.
9. Pay any outstanding fees to secure your classes. Double-check your financial aid status to make sure you've completed every step.
Important note: As you prepare for your first semester, make a commitment to attend every class meeting of each course for which you're registered, and be particularly careful not to miss the first class meeting. The first class meeting often contains essential instruction and course information.
