Come Meet Our New Instructional Designer

You are invited to attend a "Meet & Greet" event with Dr. Dean Earlix on Tuesday, March 6 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in Solms 211.  Dean is joining Armstrong as an Instructional Designer & Trainer in the Office of Online & Blended Learning.  Please stop by for cookies and refreshments as well as take a mini-tour of the computer lab in Solms 207 which has new computers, peripherals, and software to support faculty development workshops and programs.

Faculty Award Nominations Due March 18

You have the opportunity to nominate faculty colleagues for one or more of six annual faculty awards, including four awards for distinguished service, the Brockmeier Award, and the Dean Probst Award.  The Brockmeier Award honors a faculty member who has been at Armstrong for not less than one year nor more than five years who is recongized as an outstanding teacher, and who has made significant contributions through service to the university and to its students.  The H. Dean Probst Award is presented to a faculty member who has been outstanding in teaching and learning, advisement, counseling, and the encouragement and support of student involvement in academic and co-curricular activities.  You can see a list of previous recipients here.  See the Faculty Development web site for more information.

Savannah Winds Celebrates 35 Years

In celebration of its 35th anniversary, the Savannah Winds community wind symphony-in-residence in Armstrong’s Department of Art, Music & Theatre (AMT), is throwing itself a party in the form of a public concert, Tuesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Armstrong's Fine Arts Auditorium, 11935 Abercorn Street.

2013 Student Art Exhibition Gallery Reception

March 6, noon, Fine Arts Gallery.  AMT hosts an art gallery reception at noon, Wednesday, March 6th for its competitive 2013 Student Juried Art Exhibition. Join the artists for the presentation of awards.

HOLA Hosts Public Radio’s Story Corps Project

The Hispanic Outreach and Leadership at Armstrong program (HOLA) is proud to announce that HOLA and Armstrong will serve as a regional StoryCorps partner with the specific goal of preserving voices from the Hispanic/Latino community. As part of this effort, the university is reaching out to the community to recruit Latino Americans to record their stories for StoryCorps’ “Historias” repertoire. StoryCorps will be at Armstrong from March 19-29, 2013.
