Traditional Freshman Transfer: Admission Requirements

Transfer applicants are considered for admission based on academic eligibility to return to the last college or university attended according to the official transcript. Any transfer applicant who is not academically eligible to return to the last academic institution attended will be denied admission to the university.


Cumulative GPA
  • Minimum 2.0
    This includes all transferable coursework from previous institutions attended.
SAT Minimum Scores
  • Combined Score 900 (Critical Reading and Math only)
  • Critical Reading 440
  • Math 410
ACT Minimum Scores
  • English 18
  • Math 18
High School Core GPA
  • Minimum 2.5 (Grade Point Average)

Georgia High School Minimum Core Credits

Grades must be C- or above in each class.
  • 4 years
  • 4 years
  • culminating at a level higher than Algebra
  • 4 years
  • biology, physical science or physics, chemistry, earth science or environmental science and a fourth science.
Social Studies
  • 3 years
Foreign Language
  • 2 years
  • two years of the same foreign language

Freshman Index of 2006

In addition to meeting the above admissions criteria, applicants graduating, or who would have graduated from high school within the past five years, must meet the requirements of the college preparatory curriculum (CPC) of the Board of Regents.

SAT Freshman Index
  • Combined SAT I scores + (High School Grade Point Average x 500)
ACT Freshman Index
  • (High School Grade Point Average x 500) + (ACT Composite x 42) + 88

NOTE: The high school grade point average is calculated only on CPC coursework required for admission.
