AASU offers a variety of special learning opportunities from unique freshman experiences to lifelong learning programs. Students who want to broaden their horizons through our honors program or study abroad will feel challenged and welcome here.

Honors Program
The AASU Honors program inspires and challenges highly motivated students with special opportunities to connect their education to their life experiences.

ROTC
ROTC students prepare for the physical and mental challenges of careers in the military.

NROTC
Be part of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps, a collaboration between Armstrong and nearby Savannah State University.

Study Abroad
Belize, France, Germany, Italy and China are just a few of the Study Abroad locations available where students can experience another culture while earning course credits.

Exploritas... formerly known as Elderhostel
AASU, Savannah and Exploritas: the perfect combination to provide stimulating, enjoyable, and diverse educational opportunities! Each of the many Savannah area programs offer in-depth lectures, fascinating field trips, and cultural excursions.

First-Year Experience
The First-Year Experience Resource Center, located in Gamble 207, supports the success of first-year students through campus-wide collaborative initiatives.

Freshman Learning Communities
Incoming students have the opportunity to make a smoother transition to college life, while taking part in intellectually stimulating coursework and extracurricular experiences.

62+ Program
Lifelong learners, 62 years old or older, are invited to enroll in courses with no tuition costs.

Interdisciplinary Programs
Interdisciplinary programs allow students to enroll in courses across disciplines in areas as diverse as sociology, political science, literature, history, art, education, health, economics, psychology and more. Creative interdisciplinary programs at AASU provide opportunity for students to customize an individual course of study that fits their personal research interests and academic goals.

HOLA (Hispanic Outreach & Leadership at Armstrong)
HOLA is dedicated to helping Latino students succeed at AASU by providing enrollment services, academic support, leadership development and cultural activities that enrich their experience.
