Fresh Start Smoking Cessation Classes
In preparation for Armstrong's new tobacco-free policy which goes into effect on August 1, 2012, the university will offer free tobacco/smoking cessation classes for students, faculty, and staff. Cristina Gibson, director of health promotion and disease prevention at the Coastal Health District will lead the sessions. Gibson is also the Coastal Health District's community representative on Armstrong's Tobacco Policy Implementation Team.
Each cessation course will consist of three 1-hour classes held over three consecutive days. Participants must attend all 3 classes for the session. There is no cost to attend, and lunch will be provided.
Two summer sessions will be held:
Session 1 will take place on June 25, 26, and 27, from 11:30a.m.-12:30p.m.
Session 2 will take place on July 9, 10, and 11, from 11:30a.m.-12:30p.m.
