Toys for Tots Donation Drive
(Nov. 17, 2012) For the 2012 holiday season, Armstrong continues a campus-wide holiday partnership, the Toys for Tots donation drive, coordinated with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. In 2011, Armstrong collected over 350 toys for children in the community.
New, unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at Toys for Tots collection bins throughout campus from Nov. 1-30.
Locations include the Armstrong Center, Burnett Hall, the Fine Arts Building, Hawes Hall, Lane Library, the Rec. Center, the Science Center, Solms Hall, the Student Union, University Hall, Victor Hall, and Winward Commons.
Armstrong’s athletic department is also supporting the effort and collecting toys at men’s and women’s basketball games. For more information on donating at the basketball games, visit the Toys for Tots events page.
The toys will be presented to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve at the Armstrong holiday party on Dec. 4.
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys and to distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community. By delivering shiny new holiday toys, Toys for Tots strives to deliver a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
