Armstrong Names College of Science and Technology Dean
(May 21, 2012) Armstrong Atlantic State University announces the appointment of Robert Gregerson as the university’s new dean of the College of Science and Technology. As dean, Gregerson will provide oversight and vision for undergraduate students majoring in applied physics, biology, chemistry, computer science, information technology, mathematics and psychology. He will also provide leadership for students seeking pre-professional and graduate degrees.
Gregerson earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at Wabash College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He completed his doctorate in molecular genetics at the University of Georgia and taught at the University of Georgia, University of Minnesota and Lyon College before joining Armstrong as professor and department head for biology in 2007. Gregerson’s research areas include molecular aspects of nutrient assimilation in plants, physiological responses to hypoxic stress in plants and transitional regulation during oocyte maturation in xenopus. He has served as Armstrong’s Interim Dean since July 2011.
