VP for Business and Finance Receives National Award
(Aug. 4, 2012) David Carson, Armstrong’s vice president for business and finance, is the recipient of the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) 2012 Tax Award. The Tax Award recognizes business officers who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to NACUBO’s tax advocacy efforts, educational programs and publications that focus on higher education tax compliance and administration. Carson accepted the award at the organization’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C. with Armstrong President Linda Bleicken.
"The NACUBO Tax Award puts Armstrong and myself in prestigious company with the past recipients, and I am honored to represent the university with this year's award,” said Carson.
The annual Tax Award recipient is nominated by colleagues and partners in higher education and acknowledges significant leadership and advocacy efforts made by the winner. Those efforts include outreach to foster shared resources, identification and guidance of resources that help other institutions’ compliance with tax laws and regulations, and taking a leadership role in shaping NACUBO advocacy efforts and policy positions.
Previous winners of the Tax Award include business officers from Ohio State University, the University of California, and the University of Michigan, among others.
