Armstrong PD to Offer Free Training, Car Safety Seat Checks


(August 5, 2011) The Armstrong Police Department will offer free laser technology fire extinguisher training and golf cart safety training in August-September. Car seat safety checks will also be offered at no charge to the public. All training takes place at the Armstrong Police Department headquarters at the corner of Arts and Library Drives on the Armstrong campus, 11935 Abercorn Street. The schedule is as follows:

Fire Extinguisher Training
Armstrong Police will use advanced laser technology to simulate the discharge of a dry-chemical or CO2 extinguisher for a completely clean, safe and effective training experience. The training takes a few minutes. Stop by anytime August 20-September 2.

Golf Cart Safety Class
4 p.m., Saturday, August 27
Golf carts are involved in hundreds of accidents each year, resulting in personal injury and property damage. There are specific guidelines that should be followed for safe operation of golf carts. Car Safety Seat Check
It’s back to school time! Armstrong Police will make sure your child safety seat is installed properly and your child is buckled in correctly. Safety checks are available various days and times throughout August and September. Please call us at 344.3085 to schedule an appointment.
