Armstrong Names Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving
(August 15, 2011) Erin Chalmers has been named director of alumni relations and annual giving in the Office of Advancement at Armstrong Atlantic State University.
Chalmers will manage all alumni relations and annual giving activities for Armstrong’s alumni. She will develop and execute annual plans to engage alumni and parents, solicit annual gifts, develop a strategy to increase alumni participation and coordinate alumni events and special programs.
She joins Armstrong after serving as manager of alumni services and relations at the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business. Her duties there included engaging an increasing number of alumni and meeting fundraising goals. She worked with Alumni Board members and various areas across the university and partnered with local businesses and organizations to advance new initiatives and ensure student and alumni engagement.
“Erin joins the Office of Advancement at Armstrong at an exciting time in our history,” said J. Scott Joyner, vice president for advancement. “Her experience will be an asset to this university as we continue to grow alumni engagement and develop relationships that will support Armstrong's strategic plan.”
Prior to joining the University of Denver, Chalmers served as director of career, alumni, internship and work study programs at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. She holds a master’s of professional studies from the University of Denver and a bachelor’s in journalism from the Metropolitan State College of Denver.
