Alumni Office Announces 2014 Events
(Feb. 12, 2014) — Armstrong Atlantic State University’s Alumni Office is kicking off 2014 with bang by planning more than a dozen events to provide a broad range of engagement activities for Armstrong’s 30,000+ alumni.
Highlighted events include a Homecoming pre-game party on the Alumni Arena balcony, Family Day in Atlanta, and for the first time, a black-tie alumni awards event that will present Distinguished, Outstanding, and Notable Alumni Awards at a dinner to benefit Armstrong scholarships.
“The Alumni Association Board of Directors has been doing a fantastic job of helping us put together something for everyone,” said Cheryl Anderson, director of alumni development. “Since you will be an alumna or alumnus all of your life, we are striving to offer programming and events that will appeal to brand new graduates, alumni in their nineties, and everyone in-between.”
Alumni events will also include a number of reunions, including reunions for Armstrong History alumni, former athletes and even an online reunion on Feb. 22 for European alumni.
“The Alumni Office is building partnerships to offer more and more of these special reunions,” said Anderson. “We want to host at least two or three of these gatherings during Celebrate Armstrong each October and during Homecoming each February.”
