Armstrong Adds New Associate VP of Enrollment Services
(August 22, 2012) Armstrong announces the addition of Patrice Black Mitchell as the university’s new associate vice president of enrollment services.
As Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services, Mitchell is committed to the continuation of a strategic enrollment recruitment plan consistent with Armstrong’s mission and core values. She also oversees the offices of admissions, the registrar and financial aid.
Mitchell offers more than 20 years of experience in enrollment services, including work in admissions and financial aid in technical and community colleges. She comes to Armstrong from the University of North Carolina-Asheville where she was dean of admissions and financial aid. At UNC-Asheville, Mitchell also served as coordinator for UNC’S merit scholarship program for incoming freshmen.
Mitchell received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Salem College, a Master of Public Administration from UNC-Greensboro, and a Doctor of Education from North Carolina State University. She is also an alumna of the Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Institute for Women Higher Education Administrators and a graduate of the Snowmass Institute for Enrollment Management.
