Armstrong Accepting Nominations for 2014 Notable Alumni Awards
(May 16, 2014) — The Armstrong Alumni Association is currently accepting nominations for the 2014 Notable Alumni Awards. The nomination deadline is May 23, 2014.
Awards will be presented during Celebrate Armstrong Weekend at the first annual Alumni Awards Gala on Friday, October 10, 2014, with proceeds benefitting scholarships. Up to 15 alumni will be selected for this honor and welcomed into the Armstrong Honorees Society.
This award also qualifies honorees for consideration for future Alumni Awards, including the Outstanding and Distinguished Alumni Awards, which are each presented to only one person each year, and the Eminent Alumni Award, a new level that has been created to recognize alumni who have achieved extraordinary and longstanding excellence.
Notable Alumni are recognized for high level of excellence in their work, service, philanthropic or leadership activities. Nomination criteria include the following:
• Professional recognition by their employer/industry
• Excellence in his/her work
• Recognized for humanities/public service
• Recognized for community service
• Philanthropic activity
• Volunteer/service activity
• Leadership activities
Any former Armstrong student is eligible, even if he or she did not complete a degree program at Armstrong. Nominations may be made posthumously.
