3 Days for AASU Kicks Off March 30
(March 22, 2010) Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) and the AASU Foundation will kickoff its annual 3 Days for AASU campaign on Tuesday, March 30. Serving as this year's campaign honorary co-chairs are Y. Allen Beall, Class of '48; J. Cliff McCurry, Class of '68; and Kaitlen Fulp, Class of '08 and '11.
The 3 Days for AASU, now in its seventh year, seeks support from businesses throughout the region to fund academic scholarships and critical university programs. This year Armstrong Atlantic State University is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its founding in 1935.
"Armstrong is vital to Savannah and our region because it offers a first rate education and is one of only a few universities in the Southeast to graduate high-demand healthcare professionals, such as radiation therapists and cardiovascular interventional technologists," said John Duttenhaver, M.D., of Radiation Oncologist at Anderson Cancer Institute. "That is one of the reasons why I support Armstrong."
The university's College of Education, College of Health Professions, College Liberal Arts and College of Science and Technology enroll more 7,500 students. Nearly 900 students reside in on-campus housing.
