19th Annual Student Scholars Symposium

(April 18, 2013) Armstrong announces its 19th annual Student Scholars Symposium, a daylong event that showcases students’ research and discoveries. The 2013 Student Scholars Symposium will be held on Wednesday, April 24, from 8:00a.m. to 5:45p.m. at the Armstrong Student Union, 11935 Abercorn St., and is free and open to the public.

The Scholars Symposium provides a venue for the campus and the community to experience the scholarly achievements of Armstrong students in a multitude of disciplines, from engineering and physical therapy to literature and history. Close to 100 students will conduct oral presentations and poster sessions throughout the day.

New for 2013 is the Student Scholars Symposium keynote speaker, which will feature Roger Rowlett, the Gordon and Dorothy Kline Professor of Chemistry at Colgate University. Rowlett will deliver his talk, “Five Myths and Three Stories about Undergraduate Research.” While at Armstrong, Rowlett will also conduct workshops for faculty and administrators on expanding student research opportunities.
