Military Family Activity Day
|When:||Saturday, April 13, 2013|
About this event:
Armstrong's College of Education announces an on-campus event specifically devoted to children whose parents are based at Ft. Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield: the Military Parent and Children’s Activity Day. The family event is part of a larger initiative at Armstrong called Educators and Athletes Supporting Youth (EASY), organized by the College of Education, along with Armstrong Athletics and the Office of Veterans Affairs. Through the Military Parent and Children’s Activity Day, the university hopes to strengthen its connection to military families and raise awareness of their unique needs both in and out of the classroom.
The Military Parent and Children’s Activity Day will be held on Saturday, April 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Armstrong Sports Center on 11935 Abercorn St. The event is targeted for third through fifth graders and is free and open to the public. The event will feature a variety of fun educational activities, including magic with Magic Marc, storytelling, interactive technology and fitness fun with Armstrong student-athletes. Lunch is also included.
To register, parents should contact June Erskine at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 912.344.3361. For additional information, contact Brenda Logan at 912.344.3187. Registration deadline is April 1. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
