Gene Waters, PhD

Waters served as President of the Student Government Association from 1970-71. In addition, he served in the Student Senate and on the Honor Council while at Armstrong. He graduated in 1972 with the BBA and the BS (Criminal Justice).

After graduating, he entered the field of corrections, and later higher education, serving as a faculty member and administrator in the University System of Georgia and Vice President and President for the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education. He also holds the MA, EdS, and PhD degrees.

After 34 years in higher education and counseling with the State of Georgia, he retired in 2006.
